Who am i and what do i do?

My name is Milas, but you can call me Prof. Mercimek. I’m a Civil Engineer who speacializes in Transportation Engineering.
Currently, I’m pursuing my doctorate at Technical University of Istanbul in Transport Engineering. Plus, I work as a full time Research Assistant at Istanbul Nişantaşı University.
My goal for this website is to share the experience I gained through my academic journey and build an online portfolio. I’m planning on sharing the knowledge I gathered as well.

behınd the name: prof. mercımek

Quoting my parents, when I was merely a 2 or 3-year-old, I was spending hours observing things like tree barks, how fire burns, how gravity works, etc., and I was enthralled by these items, considering everything was obscure to me at that point. My mom found this behavior extremely funny; a minuscule human, investigating trivial things for hours on end and telling stories like how the family rabbit eats and hops with sparkles in her eyes. Hence she nicknamed me, this tiny curious investigator of things, “professor mercimek”. Mercimek, as in a grain of lentil in Turkish.
Up until today, my nickname Prof. Mercimek hung on to me. Still, when I try to explain a point across, my parents and siblings tease me by using the nickname. Growing up, I found it very bothering to be called a professor but looks like I am officially trying to get the title. That’s why I wanted to embrace the name after all.
So, hey, that’s why I’m Prof. Mercimek.
